These paintings use the natural flow and spread of water to deposit pigment and texture. The surface of the canvas is often literally flooded with water carrying inks, pigments, salts or sand. Allowed to flow freely across the canvas, and left to evaporate for several days or weeks, the remaining image visualises natural water movement as well as the impact of flooding and its lasting imprint on an area.
